Objects may be purely decorative, ethnographic, sculptural, or social history and may be presented in a variety of ways and circumstances.
We believe that objects of historic and aesthetic importance should be preserved by carrying out the minimal amount of interference to the object to achieve the maximum result. We will listen carefully to the needs of the client before proposing a treatment.
We are committed to the highest of standards in craft skills, conservation and material science.
Every object is researched thoroughly so that the most appropriate treatment is applied not only to the historical requirements of the object and to its aesthetic properties but also to the environment of its return location.
We use methods and materials that are compatible and sympathetic to the object. Indications of use and repair are preserved. Culturally sensitive objects are treated sympathetically to the needs of indigenous peoples.
Treatments might include: Conservation cleaning, consolidation of friable and crumbling surfaces, insect pest detection and eradication, stain removal, repair, replication and replacement of missing and broken elements, reconstruction, emulation of the original surface, oil or water gilding where required, touching in to match.
