Conservation Services works with ceramics, glass, stone, metals, enamels, wood, leather, ivory, shell, wax, modern materials such as plastics and with the painted surface on various media. These may be purely decorative, ethnographic, sculptural, or social history objects.
Conservation Services has specialised in the japanned and gilded surface since 1985. Unfortunately our photographs of these are embedded into an old computer system. But if you have japanned, lacquer or gilded surfaces which need conservation or restoration, please contact Julia on our contacts page.
